Riga wouldn’t be as it is without the contribution of its Jewish population throughout many centuries. Merchants, financiers, lawyers, architects, pastors, architects, teachers- they all devoted their lives to the development of the city. Sadly, ninety percent of the Jewish population of Latvia perished during the Holocaust. But memories are still there....
During the tour you will learn about the history of Jews in Latvia from the 16th century to the present. You will visit the only surviving sinagogue in Riga, have a moment of contemplation at the memorial of the saviors of Jews and the burnt down sinagogue, have a ride through the former ghetto territory to the Old Jewish Cemetery.
Meeting place is the entrance into St Peters church
